Hamilton Street footpath upgrade
The City of Hobart has undertaken pedestrian improvement works on Hamilton Street from Dalton Avenue to Hill Street, funded jointly by the Vulnerable Road Users Program of the state government and the City of Hobart.
These improvements included pedestrian kerb ramps and kerb bulbings at intersections with Dalton Avenue, Butterworth Street, and Hill Street. We also installed traffic island, signs, and line markings on Hamilton Street between D'emden Street and Hill Street to enhance pedestrian safety and reduce vehicle speeds.
The primary goal of this project is to make walking safer and more comfortable, with a particular focus on Lansdowne Crescent Primary School students and parents.
