Myer Hobart Christmas Pageant
Due to COVID-19 the 2020 MYER Hobart Christmas Pageant is cancelled. Our thanks to previous participants and to MYER who have collectively made this event a time honoured tradition. We look forward to celebrating the 40th anniversary of the pageant in 2021.
The City of Hobart looks forward to bringing the 40th anniversary of the pageant in 2021.
About the 2019 Myer Christmas Pageant
in 2019, the event attracted 70 entries and involved over 2,500 participants from a diverse range of community, school, sporting clubs and charity groups.
The running theme last year was bees, butterflies, flowers, upcycle and recycle, including a number of new and exciting entries.
The pageant featured special parade guests King Julien and the Penguins from Madagascar as well as Prada’s Priscilla from Sydney and local performers from the musicals Madagascar and Mamma Mia!
We also had Sue the unicorn, Rufus the donkey and their baby Dufus visiting from the Taste of Tasmania.
The Poseidon Adventure, Wheelie Bin Orchestra, the Tasmanian Junior Bee Keepers, vintage fire trucks and the Tasmanian Lighthorse – all helped usher the festive season.
The City of Hobart would like to thank everyone who helped make the Myer 2019 Hobart Christmas Pageant a great success.
We express our sincere gratitude to Myer – our Principal Sponsor, event’s media partners, local businesses, emergency and transport services, including Tasmania Police, Ambulance Tasmania, Tasmania Fire Service, Tasmania State Emergency Service, Royal Hobart Hospital, Hobart Private Hospital, Firesafe Equipment, Metro Tasmania, Tasmania’s Own Redline Coaches, Red Decker Company and Tasmanian Lighthorse.
A special thank you to Naomi Marantelli who lent her creative expertise to at least 16 of the 66 floats in this year’s parade. And of course, thank you to our super Santa who has been bringing joy and magic to the event every year.
This wonderful community Christmas celebration would not have been possible without your support.
