Grants and funding

Grant applications open 13 February - 15 March 2021 for Community, Creative Hobart and Events.

The City of Hobart offers over $1 million annually to community and cultural groups through its annual grant programs. The City only supports activities taking place in the Hobart local government area which are able to demonstrate a creative, community and/or environmental benefit.

Outside of specific programs, we offer three different types of grants across a number of programs:

  • Quick Response Grants - open all year round
  • Biannual Grants - open in February and August
  • Annual Grants - open in June

Our Grant Programs are listed below – click on the most relevant link for the grant you wish to apply for. Each grant program has specific guidelines detailing program objectives, eligibility information and assessment criteria. View the Grants Program Policy which sets out the City’s approach to managing the City of Hobart Grants Program.

All of the City’s grants programs and applications are managed through the easy to use online SmartyGrants platform and information about the application process is also included in the program links (below).
