Bush Adventures

The City of Hobart’s Bush Adventures program offers people of all ages the chance to explore the wonders of nature around Hobart. The program gives great opportunities to enjoy and learn more about Hobart’s Bushland Reserves.

Welcome to the Bush Adventures Winter Program 2019

"I move, therefore I am". ― Haruki Murakami

This winter in our Bushland reserves it’s all about movement in nature.  We’re on the run for a brand new AMAZING race at Waterworks Reserve, pedalling the tracks with a mountain bike riding workshop on the Queens Domain and exploring the wilds of kunanyi/Mt Wellington with discovery walks to some of the best-kept secrets on the mountain.

As part of National Science Week, we will be exploring the interconnections of the Wood Wide Web at the annual Festival of Bright Ideas and getting our nets wet in the Sandy Bay Rivulet as we explore the micro-bug world of our local waterways with local freshwater ecologist John Gooderham.

Other activities include:

  • Guided Walks
  • Nest box building
  • Go Wild Go Solo parent free expeditions

We look forward to seeing you out and about this winter.
