The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a severe weather warning for Tuesday 14 and Wednesday 15 August. Hobart will experience damaging winds.In these conditions forest or bush environments can be quite hazardous. People should reconsider visiting bushland areas during the period of the weather warning (Tuesday afternoon and evening, and Wednesday, easing in the evening.)

The City is trialling a new recycling unit for small items that can't be included in your fortnightly recycling collection. The unit is located in the Hobart Council Centre, corner of Davey and Elizabeth streets.
The City has released a new strategy, aimed at achieving zero waste to the Hobart Landfill by 2030. The City of Hobart Waste Management Strategy 2015-2030 includes over 90 actions across a range of areas such as organic waste, education, and litter.
