Business Grants

Hello Hobart shopfront store window in yellow

As part of the economic support package offered by the City of Hobart, there are a number of grants available to offer financial assistance for small businesses affected by COVID-19.

Professional Assistance Grants assist small businesses with a cash contribution to cover the cost of professional services that may be required to adapt in response to COVID-19 and/or prepare for the recovery from COVID-19.

(Please note: This grant is not for professional-assistance work already completed / underway (retrospective) and a quote will be required as evidence as part of an application.)

eCommerce Support Grants are quick-response funding for small retail businesses affected by COVID-19. These grants cover fees that are associated with selling goods online (eCommerce).

(Please note: This grant is not for food and beverage businesses who only sell perishable items – it is for retail businesses only.)

All applications are assessed against eligibility criteria as listed in the individual grant guidelines. It is important to note that meeting all of the criteria does not guarantee an application is successful.

To apply for a grant you need to register with SmartyGrants. Click 'Apply Now' below when the grant round opens and then 'Log In'. From the page that is displayed you can register as a user and start your application. You can also preview the application form.

If you have any questions around eligibility, please contact 03 6238 2770.
