It is the City of Hobart’s responsibility to try to stop or control pollution. This includes any activity or actions that may cause pollution.
There are many different types of pollutants that we need to consider: these include materials such as gases, liquids and solids, but they also include organisms, noises and smells. If they have a negative effect on the environment, or cause an environmental nuisance, then we are legally responsible to work to manage that.
