Notifiable diseases are diseases that affect public health and are required by law to be reported to the Director of Public Health.

Notifiable diseases cause illness through transmission from an infected person, animal or even food or water.

We investigate cases of disease to control and prevent the spread of disease.

 

Common infectious diseases include:

  • campylobacteriosis
  • crystosporidiosis
  • legionellosis 
  • salmonellosis.
