Dining out in Hobart now comes with an extra reward, as the Passport to Hobart voucher program makes its return.

Through its Hello Hobart program, the City of Hobart is inviting locals and visitors to explore some of the city’s best cafes, restaurants and bars, collecting stamps and reward vouchers as they go.

From today, diners can sign up to the program and start collecting stamps in return for supporting participating local businesses.

Lord Mayor Anna Reynolds said eager diners would receive a $10 welcome voucher just for signing up to the program.

“By downloading the Stamp Me app and activating your account, you can get things started with $10 to spend at any of the listed businesses,” Cr Reynolds said. “There are more than 40 venues already on the list, and we expect a few more to sign on in the coming days – it’s not too late for businesses to sign up to be part of this program.

“Using the passport is a great way to get out and support our hospitality venues, and explore the many great food and beverage options that exist here in Hobart.”

Among the local venues ready to welcome Passport holders is waterfront restaurant T42, which will host this morning’s program launch.

“It’s been a challenging couple of years, and anything that helps the industry to recover is really appreciated,” Managing Director Leo Miller said.

“The program will get people thinking about places they haven’t been to yet, and we’re always keen to welcome new customers into the restaurant.”

Passport to Hobart was initially launched in January 2021 as a seven-week program that generated at least $90,000 in local spending and the collection of about 2300 passport stamps.

The Stamp Me app can be downloaded from the App Store and Google Play Store.

The program runs until 8 May, or until all vouchers have been claimed. To see the list of participating venues and full terms and conditions, visit hellohobart.com.au/passport
