Hello Stranger!

Hello Stranger

Ever wished you could get to know your neighbours or make a new friend but not sure how to begin?

Hello Stranger! is a conversational and listening experience created by the City of Hobart with artist Rose Turtle Ertler for Mental Health Week.

It is an intergenerational project which aims to promote the idea of 'talking to strangers' as a helpful tool to ease the stress of isolation and loneliness.

Young people from our Youth Art and Recreation Centre teamed up with older people from our Mather House Positive Ageing community space to record their ideas and experiences on talking to strangers.

You will be invited to sit in a chair facing a stranger. Together you will listen to the Hello Stranger! soundtrack on headphones which will help you begin a conversation with the person opposite.
