North-South Track

North South MTB Track

The North-South Track is a beautiful ride through the foothills of kunanyi/Mt Wellington above Hobart. Created to blend into the natural landscape it includes long rides, technical features, long flowing descents, and an impressive stone clapper bridge across New Town Rivulet.

Built by the City of Hobart, it was one of the first mountain bike tracks in the state to be built to international standards and forms the backbone of tracks on the mountain.

Best starting points are either The Springs or Shoobridge Bend in Wellington Park. You can also start the track at Glenorchy Mountain Bike Park, although this is where most people end their North-South ride.

If you don't have a car you can now catch the kunanyi/Mt Wellington Explorer Bus to The Springs, it's an extra $10 to bring your bike.

Track ratings are based on the International Mountain Bicycling Association's difficulty rating system. Shared use tracks can be used by pedestrians and mountain bike riders.
