The days are getting longer and the temperature is (slowly) rising, so it is time to get out and enjoy some of the best of Hobart this spring.
1. Community Bake Day at Legacy Park
Pizzas, roasts, breads or let your imagination run wild at the Legacy Park Community Bake Day every second Sunday from 11.00 am to 4.00 pm.
Plus during the school holidays there's a special 'Make you own Pizza' Bake Day on Tuesday 8 October from 11.00 am to 2.00 pm. Children are encouraged to make their own pizzas.
Bring along your favourite recipe and cook it in the wood-fired ovens with help from our friendly oven coordinators.
While your food bakes, the kids can explore the nature-based playground, designed for children of all ages and abilities.
The park also offers picnic tables, a climbing wall, discovery gardens, and an outdoor amphitheatre.
Community Bake Days are open to everyone on every second Sunday, and we hope to see many families join in the fun.
For more info, visit the City of Hobart website.
The Legacy Park wood-fired ovens are also available for hire for private events. For bookings and more information, find out more here.

2. InsideOUT – Phenomenal Bodies (Alicia King)
Don't miss this unique exhibition in Franklin Square from Tuesday 3 September to Sunday 27 October.
Phenomenal Bodies by artist Alicia King (pictured below) brings the Tasmanian wilderness into the heart of the city, with mesmerizing sculptural forms and levitating orbs.
More details can be found on the InsideOUT page.
3. Zig Zag Track
Rediscover the restored Zig Zag Track on kunanyi / Mt Wellington.
This short but challenging walk offers stunning views of the River Derwent and Storm Bay, making it one of Tasmania's most beautiful hikes.
4. 2024 Christmas Pageant
Nothing marks the start of the festive season like the Myer City of Hobart Christmas Pageant.
The Christmas Pageant is not only a celebration of the holiday season but also a vibrant showcase of Hobart's diverse cultural community.
The event attracts over 15 000 spectators annually and features more than 2000 participants, including dancers, sporting clubs, businesses, and various community organisations and, of course, Santa.
This year's Pageant, marking its 42nd edition, will take place on Saturday, 23 November, starting at 10.30 am.
5. Street-Side Dining
As the days warm up, enjoy outdoor dining at spots like Straight Up Coffee + Food, Pilgrim, and Simple Cider.
These expanded dining areas, introduced post COVID, have added vibrancy to Hobart's streets, drawing in both visitors and locals.
