Speakers Corner

Speakers Corner is at the northern end of Elizabeth Mall and is a space for people who want to make a public address in a peaceful and lawful manner.

Speakers are permitted each Tuesday and Friday between the hours of 12 pm and 4 pm. Pamphlets and reading material can be displayed for distribution. The materials are to be displayed in a purpose-built/constructed display device with an explanatory sign indicating who you are or who you represent and where you are from. You are not permitted to approach the public, let them come to you for information and a chat.  Pamphlets and reading materials are not to be hand distributed.

If you would like to use the Speakers Corner, you need to apply for a permit. You can do this by completing and submitting the online application form. A printable form is available on our forms page.

There are terms and conditions associated with your permit that you are required to observe. On the day you are speaking, you need to report to the officer in the Elizabeth Mall Information Booth with your permit.
