Craig will be featuring at the Festival of Bright Ideas, giving demonstrations, and taking questions for existing and future drone pilots at Princes Wharf (PW1) for schools on Friday and for the public on Saturday.
Here are Craig's 5 Tips for Recreational Drone Pilots:
Educate Yourself
Start by watching the many instructional videos available on YouTube to learn the basics of operating your drone effectively and safely.
Follow CASA Guidelines
Always adhere to the rules set out by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) for recreational drone users to ensure safe and legal flying.
Get Permission
Before taking off or landing, make sure you have the landowner's permission to avoid any potential conflicts.
Practice in Open Spaces
If you're new to flying, take your time to practice in a wide open area, away from obstacles like trees and buildings, to build your skills and confidence.
Enjoy and Connect
Have fun with your drone, and don't hesitate to connect with other drone enthusiasts to share tips, experiences, and advice.
