Public Toilet Strategy

The Public Toilet Strategy 2015-2025 provides a framework to improve public toilets in Hobart.

It contains 49 recommendations to improve their provision, availability, promotion and distribution. This will ensure they are accessible, environmentally sustainable and of high quality.

The strategy identifies 95 public toilets. 69 of these are Council managed facilities with 54 currently available, and 15 proposed new facilities. The remaining 26 are public toilets delivered and managed by third party providers.

The implementation of the strategy will elevate the City's public toilets to a contemporary and international standard. This will enable them to service the community and the growing number of students and tourists who visit or live in Hobart.
