Garage Sale Trail is a weekend of garage sales across Australia, held on 19 and 20 October 2019. It encourages people, businesses, schools and community groups to give their unused goods another life instead of sending them to the tip. It's a fun way to turn household clutter into cash and a great way to meet people in your community.

With big sustainability and community impacts, Garage Sale Trail is making big waves in reducing waste to landfill.

Garage Sale Trail happens with the support of Local Council partners across the country and nearly 400 000 bargain hunting, reuse loving Australians shopping and selling at more than 18 000 garage sale events Australia-wide. 

There are two ways to get involved in Garage Sale Trail event:

• Organize a Garage Sale Trail in your area.
• Shop the trail and visit garage sales in your area.

Organise a garage sale

Garage Sale Trail is a great initiative for those who would like to organise their own sale. You sign up through the website, create an identity for your sale, and list the items you will be selling to promote your event. There are even some great tools through social media to help you promote your event and attract shoppers on the day.

For shoppers

The Garage Sale Trail website will allow you to search for garage sales in your area and help you decide which ones you will visit over the weekend. You can create a trail of sales to visit and make a weekend of it, meeting people in your local area and enjoy finding new treasures.
