Maxs Infinity Loop partial track closure
Part of Maxs Infinity Loop will be closed for drainage work that will help prevent rocks falling into the City of Hobart’s Clearys Gates depot on the Queens Domain.
Work is scheduled to start on Monday 24 August and be completed by Friday 18 September 2026.
To keep everyone safe a section of Maxs Infinity Loop (see map) will be closed from 7 am and reopen at 4 pm on weekdays.
The track will remain open on weekends, including for ParkRun.
Why this work is important
Heavy rainfall is dislodging large rocks, which are regularly falling down the steep embankment above Clearys Gates depot, the base for many of our staff and important council assets.
Earlier this year we removed a number of trees with exposed roots from the cliff face above the depot.
Both the tree removal and these drainage works will help protect our staff and council assets from the risk of rockfall and embankment erosion.
