Town Hall flags
Community organisations can request to have flags flown on City flagpoles to mark occasions of civic, cultural or community significance.
Flags may be flown at the following locations:
- Hobart Town Hall (Macquarie Street).
- Hobart Town Hall banner poles.
Booking eligibility
To be considered, your request must meet the following:
- Applications may be made by not-for-profit organisations, community groups or consulates.
- The occasion must have civic, cultural, or community significance.
- Requests must align with the City of Hobart's visions, mission and values.
- Requests cannot be for political parties, commercial purposes, or activities that may cause harm or offence.
Please note:
- the Australian National Flag is flown on a permanent basis from the Hobart Town Hall roof and Council Centre flagpoles
- the Aboriginal Flag is flown permanently from the Town Hall parking deck Flagpole and at the front of the Town Hall
- all flags must be of appropriate size and quality and be provided by the applicant
- the duration of a flag booking will be determined by the CEO.
