Summer roads projects
This summer the City of Hobart will spend $1.93 million resurfacing and repairing important roads in Lenah Valley, North Hobart and the CBD.
Our summer roads program includes resurfacing Doyle Avenue in Lenah Valley and a major stretch of road along Elizabeth Street in North Hobart.
In March more than half a million dollars will be spent resurfacing Elizabeth Street between Macquarie and Davey streets.
The project will include widening the footpath to make it easier and safer for bus commuters to board, especially during busy peak hour traffic.
The Doyle Avenue roads project, which starts on 5 January 2026, has been fully funded by the Australian Government's Roads to Recovery Program.
Resurfacing Elizabeth Street in North Hobart is funded by the Roads to Recovery Program and by the City of Hobart.
