New Parking Meters
The City of Hobart is rolling out new customer-friendly meters that allows you to pay by credit/debit card, coins, and mobile phone app.
These new machines will replace the current parking meters and voucher machines on the existing locations in the city centre, Salamanca Place, Dunn Place, Condell Place and Lefroy Street car parks. Voucher machines on the Domain and Regatta Ground area will not be replaced.
Features of the new system
An app will be available for use on Android, Apple and Windows users to pay for their parking, once the new system is fully operational by the end of the roll-out period.
This will allow people to pay without having to go to the parking meter, to top up parking to the maximum time allowed on the go and will send a notification advising the parking session is about to expire.
Further information regarding the application can be found via: EasyPark app
You will be able to use a credit or debit card on all new meters across the city centre. The minimum credit card transaction will be $3.
Coin payment will be available on all meters.

Vehicle detection sensors
New in-ground sensors will be installed to support mobile phone payment system and provide the City with information regarding parking usage to help with future planning.
The new system means we will move from single digit numbers to 3–4 digit numbers so every parking bay has a unique number. The new numbers will be on the kerb instead of the footpath.
