Songs from the Street

Songs from the Street is a free event being held in the Elizabeth Mall to raise awareness and funds to support those with lived experience of housing stress and homelessness.

Everyone is welcome! Bring your friends and family, help raise some money for an important cause and enjoy a great afternoon of shared musical fun and opportunities!

The event provides an opportunity for people who have experienced housing stress, to perform in a supportive environment, make industry and scene contacts, and be in the running to win serious prizes to boost their musical ambitions.

Help us support equitable opportunities, celebrate local culture, and contribute to a valuable cause.

All funds raised on the day will go to Street to Home.

Learn about the history of the event on the Songs from the Street page.

About Street to Home

The Street to Home program supports those living on the streets and/or in cars, who may be struggling with past trauma, mental health issues, illness, poverty, long-term unemployment, those exiting prison and young people exiting state care.

The Street to Home team collaborates with the City of Hobart and other Greater Hobart Councils, responding to reports and notifications of people 'sleeping rough' and covers familiar areas where people are known to sleep rough, such as inner city parks, car parks, laneways, city streets, bushland and other public places.
