Don't miss your chance to get tips from the SES, Tasmania Fire Service and Tasmania Police about how to prepare for an emergency.

With this year's bushfire season fast approaching now is the time to prepare yourself and your family for fire and other dangerous events, such as floods and destructive winds.

Event details

  • Date: Saturday, 12 September 2026.
  • Time: 10am to 2pm.
  • Location: Princes Wharf 1 (outside concrete area).

Join us for this Get Ready Hobart event down on the waterfront at Princes Wharf 1 between 10am and 2pm on Saturday 12 September.

Talk to people from key agencies, organisations and community groups focused on providing information, resources and practical advice to help you and your family become more resilient and better prepared for emergencies and disasters.

Tasmania Police, SES and the Tasmania Fire Service will all be there.

Taking an all-hazards approach, the event will showcase the diverse services, programs and support available across Hobart.

We will also be talking about the important role strong neighbourhood connections and community networks play in building a safer and more resilient city.

Community resilience is about more than being prepared for emergencies.

Strong communities are built on local connections, trusted relationships and people looking out for one another.

Run by our Resilient Hobart program, Get Ready Hobart will showcase practical ways residents can become more connected to their neighbourhoods, learn about local community initiatives and discover how social connection can support wellbeing and resilience before, during and after emergencies.
