Youth Climate Action Fund
Empowering the city's young climate leaders.
The Youth Climate Action Fund (YCAF) supported young people aged 15 to 24 in bringing their climate solutions to life across Hobart.
We delivered YCAF grants in partnership with Bloomberg Philanthropies. The fund provided grants of up to $7500 for youth-led projects that drive real-world climate action in schools, homes, streets and communities.
Over two years and two rounds of funding, YCAF grants have supported 29 impactful, innovative, and diverse projects in Hobart. Highlights from this include:
The impacts from these projects were significant, with more than 80 youth leaders empowered to take climate action. They engaged more than 2000 members of the Hobart community in various workshops, seminars, and performances. This resulted in real, tangible, and measurable impacts specific to each project.
Hobart was chosen to take part in the 2024 and 2025 rounds of funding. We joined 98 other cities globally in empowering youth to lead the fight against the climate crisis.
