Tracking and reporting our progress is important.
Each year, the we publish an organisational greenhouse gas emissions inventory and climate report. This report details:
- transparent information on our emissions
- progress towards climate targets
- the actions being taken across our operations.
The reports help us measure performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and track progress over time.
Our reporting is guided by the Climate Ready Hobart Strategy 2040. The strategy commits the City to disclosing corporate emissions inventories annually and community emissions inventories every two years. Together, these reports help us understand trends, assess progress towards our goals, and ensure accountability to the community.
Greenhouse gas emissions inventories are an essential tool for understanding our contribution to climate change. By measuring emissions from our operations and across the wider municipality, we can focus efforts where they will have the greatest impact. It also allows us to track how Hobart is progressing towards a zero emissions, climate resilient future.
