Presenting a petition

Council Chambers

Members of the public can present a petition to the Council.

The requirements and processes for petitions are found in part 6 of the Local Government Act 1993 (the Act).

Electronic petitions must follow the requirements in section 57 of the Act. Please be aware that some electronic petition templates found on the internet do not meet the requirements. Petitions that don't meet the requirements are unable to be tabled with the Council.

Before presenting a petition, please ensure you have read and understood the the requirements and processes for petitions found in part 6 of the Act.
