IMPORTANT NOTICE: All Bushcare group activities including Trackcare dig days have been put on hold as part of community efforts to limit the spread of coronavirus in Tasmania. Effective immediately this means Trackcare dig days will not proceed until further notice.
We’ll keep you posted on developments via our Bushcare Update emails, so make sure you sign up to receive them!
We will also post regular updates on our Facebook page and plan to have our volunteers back in the field as soon as it is safe to do so.
Trackcare is all about connecting mountain bike riders and bushwalkers with the care, maintenance and construction of Hobart’s great tracks and trails.
Run by the City of Hobart’s Bushcare program, Trackcare volunteers learn trail building skills and help look after our amazing bushland tracks on kunanyi / Mount Wellington, and in the mountain’s foothills.
We hold regular ‘dig days’ where volunteers are taught practical trackwork techniques, meet fellow track users, and help shape Hobart’s bushland trail network.
You don't need any experience – expert training, tools and equipment are all provided.
Dig days are held on the third Sunday of every month, 10 am – 3 pm, at various track locations in our bushland reserves.
If you want to join Trackcare and help maintain our tracks and trails, sign up for our Trackcare emails to receive up-to-date information.

Trackcare dig days
For all dig days you will need: sturdy boots, long pants, long sleeves, a hat, drinking water and lunch. Hot drinks and biscuits are provided.
Note: Occasionally we have to postpone a Trackcare dig day at the last minute due to inclement weather. If that's the case we'll let you know via the Bushcare Facebook page, so please check that page if heavy rain or very strong winds are forecast.
