InvisAbility: Be Seen, By Choice is a powerful art exhibition exploring portraits of individuals who choose how they are seen.

Transforming the Town Hall Ballroom into a sensory experience through projection, soundscapes and visual storytelling.

Guided by mentor artists Lorenz Cherry, Jude Elliot and Cary Littleford, come along and explore portraits where every face tells a story.

The Ability to Create: InvisAbility exhibition is a free event and is a platform that amplifies the voices and experiences of people with disability, through creative expression.

Launch event

A launch will be held at 11 am on Wednesday 23 July in the Town Hall Ballroom.

Getting to the venue

The Hobart Town Hall is at 50 Macquarie St, Hobart TAS 7000

A car park behind the Hobart Town Hall is available for drop offs, accessible from Elizabeth Street. Please see entryway to this carpark here.

Guide Dogs and service animals

Guide Dogs and service animals are welcome in the Town Hall.

Wheelchair accessibility

There is ramp access at the front of Town Hall at the Macquarie Street entrance.

The Hobart Town Hall Ballroom on Level 1 is accessible to wheelchair users via lift on the ground floor, located to the right of the staircase. The lift is also accessible via the rear carpark and requires interaction with an intercom to gain access. This carpark is accessible from Elizabeth Street. Please see entryway to this carpark here.

Accessible bathrooms are available on Ground Floor and Level 1 of the Hobart Town Hall.

Hearing Loop

There is a Hearing Loop in the Town Hall Ballroom, Lady Osborne meeting room and the Council Chambers. Please let Town Hall staff know if you require a headset or the system to be set up for your event when hiring the Ballroom.

Auslan Interpreted Event

The launch event on Wednesday 23 July is Auslan interpreted. Please advise when booking.

Audio descriptions of the exhibition will be available on the website.

A touch tour or orientation visit can be arranged before the launch day.

Braille map is available at the information desk on exhibition days.
