The City of Hobart has a strong history of community engagement through popular Open Days, including the 2016 Town Hall sesquicentenary event which drew around 5000 attendees, and a children’s “Hidden Histories” event in 2021.
Quotes to be attributed to Hobart Lord Mayor Anna Reynolds:
“We’re throwing open the doors of Town Hall with our first Open Day since 2016.
“Town Hall is the people’s building and yet there are people who’ve never been in here before.
“Sunday’s Open Day is for everyone, whether you’re interested in Hobart’s history, colonial architecture, trams, Council’s work, music, storytelling or children’s activities.
“This will be a fun and free day out with the family.
“The Town Hall is not just a beautiful building – it’s a vibrant part of our city’s civic life.”
