St Davids Park

The City of Hobart manages and maintains high-quality public parks, gardens, playgrounds, reserves, tracks, trails and sporting facilities in and around Hobart.

The City's parks and bushland reserves offer visitors a chance to relax and unwind in beautiful natural surroundings, or play in one of our many playgrounds.

Our extensive network of tracks and trails cater to the interests of hikers, runners, mountain bikers, and those heading out on a casual stroll.

Hobart is also home to a range of sportsgrounds used for a variety of sports throughout the year, and are also open for the public to enjoy.

Consumption of alcohol

Some parks in and around Hobart are identified as public places and therefore restrictions on the consumption of alcohol apply. (This has been done under section 25 of the Police Offences Act 1935.)

The regulations restrict alcohol possession and consumption in the following areas of Hobart:

Long Beach Reserve 24 hours, 7 days a week (within fenced area of playground only)
North Hobart Cultural & Skate Park 24 hours, 7 days a week
Parliament House Gardens (managed by State Government)
