About Council

Hobart Council Centre

Hobart City Council is the local government body responsible for the Hobart local government area.

The Council is made of a Lord Mayor, Deputy Lord Mayor, and ten Elected Members.

The City of Hobart has around 700 employs who report to the Chief Executive Officer. We provide a wide range of services for the wellbeing of the community.

There are 12 elected members who represent the businesses and residents of the City of Hobart.
