Elizabeth Mall Information Hub
The City has recently redeveloped the Elizabeth Mall information hub. It features a new, contemporary look and is conveniently located in the heart of the city centre.
The services are provided by the Tasmanian Travel and Information Centre officers. They are the go-to for busy locals who’d like to get away but don’t have time to organise a trip or those who want to arrange an unforgettable Tasmanian experience for visiting friends and family.
Pop by, let us know what you’re looking for and we’ll help you rediscover our beautiful and unique island. Stop off and grab your national parks passes, Metro cards or travel gift vouchers. We can also help you find your best Spirit of Tasmania deals.
If you see visitors to Hobart who are in need of some advice on where to go and what to do, feel free to direct them to the information hub for free itinerary planning and a range of maps and brochures.
For tourism, retail and hospitality businesses and local events, we offer some advertising options via brand-new screens located at the back of the hub, facing up Elizabeth Street. Inquiries can be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
The contemporary information hub is a central meeting area in the heart of the city and as a mark of respect to Aboriginal people and culture in Tasmania, the City has recently installed a new contemporary artwork 'Feeling the Country' to deepen awareness of Aboriginal culture.
Created by Michelle Maynard, the artwork is a result of her innovative multimedia practice that bridges the old and the new. The work is vibrant and sophisticated and adds an engaging and dynamic contemporary perspective to the many layers of history within the mall and the city landscape. For more information, please visit the Feeling the Country webpage.
The information hub is open from 10 am to 4.30 pm, 6 days a week (Monday to Saturday).
