Elizabeth Street Retail Precinct Upgrade

Elizabeth Street retail precinct – known as midtown – will be the third project to be developed under the City of Hobart’s Local Retail Precincts Plan.  The City has worked with local communities in Lenah Valley and New Town to improve their shopping areas.  A refreshed Lenah Valley shopping area was constructed in 2018 and an upgrade will occur in New Town in 2019.

The focus has now shifted to Elizabeth Street with planning underway and a comprehensive community engagement program scheduled for 2019.

We invite the community to join us in reimagining the future of Elizabeth Street between Liverpool Street and Burnett Street. This project’s focus will be between Melville Street and Warwick Street with works to commence in the 2020/2021 financial year.
