Submit a representation about an advertised planning application
A written submission in response to a planning application is called a representation.
You can only object to a planning application if it is a discretionary application.
A discretionary application will be advertised, and you can lodge an objection within 14 days from the day it is advertised (this date will be specified in the advertised application).
You can view currently advertised planning applications by searching on application number, address or date of submission, or click the "Currently Advertising" tab to browse applications that are open for representations.
Applications that are not currently advertised will not display plans and other documentation.
You can submit a representation to the Council in writing to the General Manager, GPO Box 503, Hobart 7001 or hand delivered to the Customer Service Centre, 16 Elizabeth Street, Hobart. It must be received no later than 5.15 pm on the day specified in the advertisement.

Representations may also be emailed to email@example.com or sent using the online form. Completed forms must be received no later than 12 am on the day specified in the advertisement. It must be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org, representations sent to any other email addresses will not be accepted.
Note: a representation may be subject to the provisions of the Right to Information Act 2009 which may result in its disclosure to a third party.
