Hobart retailers wanting to convert to online sales can now access a grant to assist with ecommerce costs.

The City of Hobart has today announced the launch of the eCommerce Support Grant to provide small retail businesses with financial assistance to help them sell their goods online.

“The eCommerce Support Grant is a new, quick-response grant for small retail businesses affected by COVID-19,” Lord Mayor Anna Reynolds said.

“These grants will help cover the ecommerce costs of existing physical retail stores within the City of Hobart. We hope this program will help to provide relief during this challenging time for our small retail traders.”

Small business retailers in the City of Hobart can view the eligibility criteria and register for an eCommerce Support Grant at hobartcity.com.au/businessgrants.

There are 100 grants of $300 per business available, designed to cover the equivalent of approximately six months of fees for an ecommerce platform.

Retailers with questions about the grant should call 03 6238 2434 or email grants@hobartcity.com.au.
