City of Hobart Alderman Tanya Denison has today resigned from her position with the Hobart City Council.

General Manager Nick Heath confirmed he had today received formal advice from Ms Denison that she was stepping down from her role as an Elected Member. Mr Heath said the resignation was effective immediately and her position on Council was now vacant.

Mr Heath will tomorrow advise the Local Government Minister of Ms Denison’s resignation and request that the Tasmanian Electoral Commission implement a countback of votes in the 2018 election to determine a replacement for the vacated position.
