Changes to toilets and pedestrian walkway at Argyle Street Car Park

Published on 23 April 2018

To make way for a new, modern amenities block, the Argyle Street Car Park toilets will be decommissioned from Friday 27 April.

A temporary toilet block, including a parenting room, has been installed in Wellington Court and will be operational once the existing toilets have been removed. The temporary toilets will be available until the new toilet block is complete.

The walkway between Argyle Street and Wellington Court will be inaccessible from Friday 27 April. Pedestrians can use the new internal walkway located inside the ground floor of the Argyle Street car park entrance. This is not a level walkway as it involves a series of stairs.

Level access to the Argyle Street Car Park lifts and ticket machines will still be available from the Wellington Court side.

For all-abilities and pram access it will be necessary to use the Wellington Centre to move between Argyle Street and Wellington Court.

People who require level access are advised to park on the Woolworths side of the car park, as it provides access via lift directly to the Wellington Centre.

We have installed additional accessible car parking spaces and a ticket machine on level three of Argyle Street Car Park, on the Woolworths side. The current ticket machines are still available on the ground floor both inside the Wellington Centre and near the Parking Information Office.
