The Great Cloth Diaper Change 2018
Did you know that a disposable nappy takes about 500 years to break down in landfill? Each year 466 tonnes of disposable nappies are sent to landfill from Hobart homes. That's more than 100 full garbage trucks every year
The City of Hobart is pleased to support the Hobart event for The Great Cloth Diaper Change 2018, hosted by Tiny Footprints. This event is an attempt to break the Guinness world record for the most cloth nappies changed within a 24 hour period. It's also an opportunity to raise awareness of the environmental benefits of using cloth nappies.
If you'd like to take part, arrive from 10.30 am with your baby and a 100% re-usable nappy. The nappy change will take place at exactly 11 am and you need to register to take part, so turn up early to avoid missing out on the record attempt.
The Hobart event is just one of many being held across the world at exactly 11 am local time. The numbers from each event will be counted towards the world record attempt.
