Sisongke Choir 25th Anniversary Workshops

Sisongke is a joyous dynamic community choir based in Hobart, Tasmania. This year Sisongke celebrates its 25th anniversary. To celebrate the occasion Sisongke will host a series of singing workshops creating an opportunity for the community to experience the joy of singing together and the fun of learning to sing in other languages.

Come along and learn three songs in three languages in one day. The workshops are designed to teach participants useful tips for breath control and resonant singing. At the end of each workshop there will be an opportunity to perform for family and friends.

For more information about the choir, visit the Sisongke website.

Workshops on Saturday 7 September

Facilitated by Rachel Hore, a much sought after teacher of choir singing.  She has been performing and teaching throughout Australia and internationally for over 20 years.  Rachel’s original songs and arrangements, and her warm and inclusive style have built her reputation as a mentor to singers around Australia. In 2014 Rachel received an OAM for her work with choirs and communities.

After studying piano at the NSW Conservatorium of Music, Rachel took up singing in Tasmania.  Rachel was a member of ‘Arrameida’, who became an important influence on the now flourishing choral scene in Australia.
