Public meeting in response to a building height petition

The City of Hobart will hold a public meeting in response to a petition regarding the Building Height Standards review undertaken at the end of last year.

The petition requests that the Council:

  • introduce maximum building heights
  • protect Hobart’s heritage buildings
  • protect Hobart’s view-lines
  • hold a public meeting as the first step to allow residents to vote on these issues in an elector poll.

The meeting will be held on Tuesday 16 April 2019 at 6 pm at the City Hall, 57-63 Macquarie Street, Hobart.

Written submissions are invited in relation to the subject matter and are to be made in writing to the General Manager, GPO Box 503, Hobart 7001 or by email at publicmeeting@hobartcity.com.au.

Submissions must be lodged no later than 12 midnight on Wednesday 10 April 2019. Postal or hand delivered submissions must be received before 5.15 pm on the same day.
