New Town Retail Precinct Upgrade pop-up exhibition
Do you live, work, play, shop or learn in New Town?
If so, you may have heard about the City of Hobart’s plans to upgrade the streetscape in the New Town retail precinct.
In 2017 we worked with the community to identify their key issues, priorities and aspirations for New Town. You might have attended a workshop, participated in an activity at school, filled in a survey or talked with a member of our team.
We also worked closely over several months with 23 residents and traders from New Town, who formed a project action team (PAT). The PAT made a series of recommendations to the City for their consideration.
In response to the community’s feedback and the PAT’s recommendations, the Draft Streetscape Concept Plan will shortly be released for your comment. We want to hear from everyone in the New Town community.
The project team will be ‘setting up shop’ in New Town. We invite you to drop in, view the plans, talk with staff, ask questions and tell us what you think.
There will be activities for children and a program of talks and activities scheduled across the three days.
