I Am Somebody exhibition

I Am Somebody exhibition 2023

I Am Somebody is a creative and multimedia art project that highlights the reality for people experiencing homelessness and housing stress in Tasmania, right now.

Facilitated by the City of Hobart in close collaboration with the City's Housing with Dignity Reference Group, the project has involved the creative input of Tasmanian documentary audio artist Helene Thomas, photographers Andrew Wilson, film maker Mick Lowenstein, artists Greg Taylor and Christine Small.

The 2023 iteration of the project includes 3 creative art workshops culminating in an art exhibition at Mawson Place - Waterside Pavilion happening during Homelessness Week 2023 in August.

The aim of the exhibition is to give the opportunity to those community members that normally do not have capacity or space to showcase their creation to do so, with the main focus on creativity.

As well as showing artworks from the creative workshops, the exhibition will include artworks from residents of local supported housing facilities.
