Cloth Nappy Workshop
Do you know over 100 full garbage trucks worth of nappies are disposed of at Hobart’s landfill every year? Disposable nappies are resource intensive, take up valuable space in landfill and are estimated to take between 150 and 500 years to break down. The good news is that cloth nappies are an alternative that are better both for the environment and your hip pocket.
The City of Hobart, in collaboration with Tiny Footprints are hosting comprehensive hands-on free workshops that cover all things cloth. This workshop is suitable for expecting parents and parents already using disposables but considering making the switch. Even substituting just 1 cloth nappy per day can make a big difference!
The workshops cover the different types of nappies available, how to use them in day to day life and how to wash them; everything you need to know to be confident getting started right away.
This is a Zeroing in on Waste Initiative, part of the City’s efforts to achieve zero waste to landfill by 2030.
