Ability to Create exhibition

The Ability to Create exhibition opens on Friday 24 May, celebrating the work of community groups and individual artists who have come together to display the diversity of work that artists with varying degrees of ability can achieve.

The theme is “Free 2 Be”. The multi art form exhibition will be held at the City of Hobart’s Waterside Pavilion.

The event began in 2013 when the City was approached with the idea by artist Freddy Lee-Mount, who’s striking “Expressions in Fabric” designs reflect his love of the natural environment.

Freddy’s passion for inclusive arts practice in the waterfront precinct has been at the centre of this year’s exhibition.

Six years on, this popular event continues to represent a strong mix of mediums and brings the community together to promote participation and connection.

From Friday 24 May, members of the community are invited to contribute to the interactive art wall during a three-day event.

The exhibition is an initiative of the City of Hobart in partnership with creative community organisations and individuals.
