New Year's Eve
We’re celebrating New Year’s Eve a little differently in Hobart this year and we’re encouraging everyone to plan ahead to bring in 2021 safely.
It is important to remember the best ways to prevent COVID-19 infections - book ahead, celebrate locally or at home.
At 9:30 pm and midnight fireworks will again skyrocket from the middle of the River Derwent, but this year, the fireworks displays will be higher so that each show will be visible from more vantage points throughout the Clarence and Hobart local government areas.
You do not need to come to the waterfront to enjoy the 2020 New Year's Eve fireworks.

COVID Safe Waterfront
There is no Taste of Tasmania this year and the Sydney to Hobart yacht race has been cancelled.
There will be no race village for the Launceston to Hobart yacht race.
Waterfront restaurants and bars will be operating in accordance with Tasmanian Government COVID-19 guidelines to provide for public safety. You are encouraged to plan now and book ahead.
