2020 Lunar New Year Festival
The 2020 Lunar New Year Festival, is now in its eighth year and this year will be celebrating the Year of the Rat.
This festival is held within the picturesque Parliament House Lawns, with a wide variety of family-focused activities. It is the largest celebration of the Lunar New Year in Tasmania, bringing together communities to mark the most important celebration in Asia.
The festival focuses on Asian food, entertainment, cultural performances and fun for young families.
Entry is free.
The festival will include:
- Zones of entertainment including food and cultural zones
- Non-stop entertainment from 10 am until 4 pm
- Chinese cultural activities including the Iconic Lion dance and Dragon dance performances, and fire crackers
- On-land Dragon Boat race
The event is organised by the Chinese Community Association of Tasmania and supported by the City of Hobart.
