To celebrate Harmony Week 2019, the City of Hobart teamed up with Glenorchy and Clarence Councils and the Multicultural Council of Tasmania in the Harmonious Hobart initiative to foster diversity and inclusion in Greater Hobart.
The Harmonious Hobart aimed to build connections across Hobart’s many communities, promote understanding of different cultures and help newcomers feel welcome.
There was a wide range of activities held across the City from 17 to 24 March to celebrate the many benefits that a rich culturally diverse community brings to city life.
The initiative was funded through the Tasmanian Government Multicultural Grants Program.
During 2019 Harmony Week, many shared with us the benefits of diversity by writing down their experiences on a sheet of paper and posting a photo of of it on social media using #HarmoniousHobart
