What is IDPwD?
International Day of People with Disability is a United Nations observed day celebrated internationally. It aims to increase public awareness, understanding and acceptance of people with disability and celebrate their achievements and contributions. For more information visit www.idpwd.com.au.
There are opportunities throughout the day for community groups, local businesses and Hobart residents to be involved in virtual performances.
You can dance, sing, read a poem, juggle, share with us words about IDPwD and Kinetic Hobart, take a photo or capture your performance on video. It’s a great way to support IDPwD 2020 as well as your business or community group. 3 December is close to Christmas so you might like to add a Christmas carol or two? Just #KineticHobart
A Roving TV will also be calling into key busking sites within the CBD so keep an eye out.
Staying Covid safe but still connected, you can watch bands, dance troupes and groups as well as an Auslan comedian!
The performance event offers all ability artists the opportunity to perform and provides a platform for new and emerging artists to develop skills and increase their confidence to play to a public audience. The screening of the performances will be at The Loop from 3-10 December.
See below for event information.
The Kinetic Hobart events are an initiative of the City of Hobart in partnership with community organisations and individuals with disability and is proudly brought to you by VISABILITY, Inclusive Creatives, HYPE and The City of Hobart.
