The following graph shows the number of people employed within each industry of Hobart's economy.

Industry Growth and Decline from 2011 to 2016.
The most significant growth was seen in Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing (89%) although it must be noted that this growth is from a low base of employees in 2011. Growth was also seen in Construction (36%) from 1,328 employees in 2011 to 1,804 in 2016 and in Accommodation and Food Services (30% rise in employment). Health Care and Social Assistance, Education and Training, as well as Administrative and Support Services all rose by 23 to 24%.
The largest decline of 23% was experienced in Wholesale Trade, although this was from a relatively low base of 856 in 2011. Decline was also seen in Public Administration and Safety (13%) and Manufacturing (11%).
