Child Minding

The Hobart Aquatic Centre provides an on-site child minding service run by qualified professionals.


Come to the Centre and relax in confidence that your children are safe and happy.   We offer two sessions for children aged up to 10.


Monday - Friday; from 9.30 to 10.30am and 10.30 to 11.30am.


Book a place with our Customer Service Team.

1 hour sessions costs $5.00. 


Learn to Swim

The Learn to Swim program at The Hobart Aquatic Centre is designed to suit everybody’s ability, skill and confidence.

pro - TEEN

Pro-TEEN is a group exercise and fitness program exclusively for 13 to 15 year olds and was designed here at The Hobart Aquatic Centre. The aim of the program is to introduce young adults to regular physical activity in a safe group environment.

The pro-TEEN program is a progressive health and fitness program. It starts with the basic skills and builds on these skills in later sessions. Sessions are held on Monday, Wednesday and Friday; and are group exercise based including modified sessions of Circuit, Bodycombat, Bodypump and Simple Sweat.


The pro-TEEN program is led by one of our qualified, friendly and experienced Fitness Domain personal trainers. To facilitate continuity and developmental progression there are two personal trainers dedicated to share the responsibility of conducting the sessions.

Class Sizes

Class numbers are limited to ensure quality programming and the enjoyment and safety of the participants.


 Aqua Bootcamp How is AQUA BOOTCAMP different from the rest?

Aqua bootcamp is a high intensity, low impact shallow water exercise class.  It's fun, fast and effective using an innovative combination of 3 dimensional moves, as well as buoyancy and resistance equipment.  You will not find a class like it anywhere else in Australia.  It's a cardio and strength workout that will simultaneously condition you core, improve your posture and leave you buzzing. 



Classes are held Monday evenings at 6pm and Wednesday evenings at 7pm.  

Sign up for an 8 week block for *$96 or come casually for *$14.90  (*Fees current at 1 July 2015)

 Ante-natal Aqua                

Our shallow water Ante-natal Aqua classes caters for women at all stages of pregnancy. 

The 45 minute class includes a pelvic floor education component, as well as carefully selected exercises to maintain health and fitness throughout the pregnancy.  Core conditioning and the changing nature of your posture is also addressed.

The classes includes cardio and endurance activities, strengthening, stretching and relaxation.   All classes are individually tailored. 



Classes are held Monday evenings at 7pm and Wednesday evenings at 6pm.

Bookings are essential and the cost is $72 for a 4 week program.

Remedial Massage

What is Remedial Massage?

Remedial Massage is a paramedical treatment that helps to restore function to injured soft tissues (muscles, tendons and ligaments).

Therapy may involve the use of various types of massage, as well as other various physical treatments to assist your recovery. In addition, you may be asked to perform some activities at home to assist the process of recovery.

Gift Vouchers

A massage gift voucher makes a great gift for any occasion. Gift vouchers are available from the customer service desk.

Complimentary Spa, Sauna and Steam

All massages include a complimentary swim and use of our spa, steam and sauna.  A pass will be arranged by your massage therapist.

Health Funds

Health rebates may apply.  Please check with your therapist and your health insurance company.

 Water Basketball

What is Water Basketball?        

Water Basketball is an international sport customised and further developed by The Hobart Aquatic Centre.  It involves two mixed teams of 6 players, who swim and pass the ball down the pool to their goal, which is a hoop similar to basketball.



Games are played on most Thursday nights between 7:30pm and 9:30pm in the Dive pool and the far end of the 50 meter pool. Come and have a look to see what it's all about!


Do I have to field a full team?

No.  Individuals and teams can both sign up for a roster.  If you don’t have a full team we can easily add you to an existing team.

Older Adults

60PLUS - Silver Membership

Do you want to improve or maintain your fitness?  Perhaps you want to improve your ability to lift, walk, ben or climb stairs?  We provide a program specifically designed for the over 60s that includes health, fitness, relaxation and rehabilitation options.  It is also a great way to meet people.


Research demonstrates that resistance training is an excellent way to prevent the onset of osteoporosis, adult diabetes, arthritis; and can also maintain mobility and prolong independence, restore positive physical and mental functions and build confidence.

Expert Instructors

The gym instructors are friendly, qualified and very experienced, each working regularly with our members to ensure they are meeting their health and fitness goals.
