The Council works with the community to guide our city's future growth and development while preserving our heritage.
To assist in developing the future planning directions for the city, the Hobart City Council has undertaken a number of studies, reports and strategies.
The Strategic Plan is the Council's principal policy statement and the vehicle through which it will exercise its leadership of the City and its community.
Other important strategies which relate to specific areas where Council engages with the community include Equal Access, Youth, Community Safety, Public Art, Alcohol & Other Drugs and Positive Ageing.
It is important that Council ensure that its efforts in the provision of services and facilities for its culturally & linguistically diverse community keep pace with changing needs and trends. With this in mind, the Council is developing a Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Strategy.
Council has also developed a new strategic direction for its work with children & families.
